Today is our out of town trip to Cambridgeshire, breeding ground of 33 Noble Peace Prize winners along with some really really famous people. The 45 min train ride is rather uneventful but the rolling hills of the country side made it a scenic journey.
We arrived just after lunch and are staying the night for an evening lecture. After check- in, an exploration of the town followed on foot. Cambridge is known as the bicycle capital of England and there are see more bikes on the road than cars. Because of the flatness of the geography in this area and the speed students have to travel to their lectures, lattes or ladies, it makes perfect sense as the practical mode of transportation. The city centre is built mainly to provide services to support the University. There are many bookstores, restaurants, banks, pubs and formal wear shops to provide all your necessities during your time here.
Night fall came pretty early so we snuck off to have a quick dinner before the evening lecture begins. Tonight we are at a pub named The Greene King, British beef and ale pie along with a Cumberland Scotch egg appetizer.
What's done is finished - a famous quote by Ahjan Brahm - a buddist monk who graduated from Cambridge in the 60's and a class mate of Stephen Hawkins in theryical physics is who we came to listen to this evening. (More on this later). Lucky for me, I stroll right up to him before the lecture and ask for a photo just a groupe.
