Tuesday, October 25 - Tower of London, Tower Bridge

Beans? Guest who is full of it? So far I've been asking for veggie breakfast selections from our hostess. She's quite enchanted that I prefer no meat 1st thing in the morning. Gary on the other hand order enough english country animal parts to start to empty a small farm.
Today's agenda is my favorite topic - Diamonds - the mega one - Not to purchase but to admire. Where else can you see three figure carats other than the Crown Jewels in high security behind medieval Tower of London? It's no small walk in the park as there are lots of buildings, King & queen chambers, the court living quarter, servant quarter, knights armours, animals cages, prisoner cells and most important torture rooms.
The diamond below is of 530 carrots in weight .

Btw, the Beefeaters are pleasant chaps and even their name is a real turn on.

North Americans refer to this bridge as the London bridge but It's really the Tower bridge. It's not falling down at least not yet. Ironically, the road is closed to car traffic right now for resurfacing

There is a glass floor in mid section between the towers and I caught Gary nervously holding on the railings for dear life. My hero, I have to wear the kilt some times.

After all the history lessons and acrobat acts of the day, we headed towards the Borough Market housed in an Art Deco style awnings. All kinds of goodies like scotch eggs, spices, flowers, seafood etc are available here. The present buildings were designed in 1851 with additions in the 1860s adding so much character to outdoor shopping. What a lovely place to have an afternoon tea break. thx Gail)
Early dinner was at St George's Tavern est 1840 near the Victoria train station district. Tonight I had the tavern specialty - wild boar sausages. No need to add photo here as we all know what English sausages look like - dont we? To finalize our cultural experience today we went to the "Wicked" musical playing at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.

The show is about to start so we'll c u tmw. Tally ho.
